Pedicure sock
Well, this is the first of two, obviously. The second one is halfway done!I have wanted something like this for a really long time...yes, before they posted that pattern on Knitty. I tend to paint my toes all year round but it's difficult in the winter when it's cold! I don't usually like long socks, so I made these anklets. I used Dacning sock yarn from Knitpicks in the Tap colourway on 2.25mm/US1 dpns. I didn't follow a specific pattern, but took ideas from a few different ones. I wasn't sure about a toe seperator but figured it would be a good idea after all, so there is a tiny 3 stitch I-cord between my big and second toes.

Look, it's a short row heel! A whole one! No heel flap! No picking up stitches! There are two minor holes near the top of the short rows because those are the first stitches I wrapped, and I must've done them wrong. The second sock is not suffering in this manner, I'm happy to say.

A picture of the sock in my new big pink fuzzy slippers. I don't usually go for pink, especially if the something is big and fuzzy, but the shop didn't have the blue ones in my size! :( But I do love the slippers...and as you can see, they'd make excellent pedicure slippers!

Very happy with this project...the second sock should be done by tomorrow or the next day at the latest. Excellent. In other knitting news, I've started a second Saturday Market Bag for my 10-year-old cousin as she was completely enamoured with mine when I brought it over with my swimming gear in it. I've wanted to make her something, so this is probably the easiest thing she could have asked me for. I did the front panel already, gotta finish the back one. Oh yeah, and I have done a few more rows on the second Opal sock. *stares guiltily at the Opal sock progress bar* Yeah, that's been there for a while...I hope to take that with me on my holiday because it'll be nice and small and transportable.
After all this, I want to do my lace project. I have decided to do the Wave and Shell Shawl as a nice wrap for the autumn and that would be a nice transportable project too.
